Senegal-Brazil Friendly Ends In a Draw

Famara Diedhiou scored from the spot to cancel opener Roberto Firmino as Senegal held Brazil to 1-1 draw at the Singapore National Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Neymar was unable to mark his 100th Selecao appearance with a goal against the Teranga Lions despite finding back of the net four times in his past five matches for Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain after failing to convert any of the chances that came his way.

Firmino needed just nine minutes to put Brazil ahead in the Asian nation after Liverpool striker receives a through from fellow Premier League player Gabriel Jesus into the Senegal penalty box before he delicately lifted a finish up past the goalkeeper Alfred Gomis and inside the right-hand post for the opener.

Mane surged into Brazil territory from his position on the flank and was eventually felled in the area by PSG defender Marquinhos, allowing Diedhiou to step up and drive a penalty into the bottom left corner 45th minutes into the encounter.

Brazil will remain in Singapore and take on Nigeria on Sunday, while Senegal are in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying action next month.
