Iwobi to miss Arsenal’s Impending training camp in Dubai

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi will miss Arsenal’s impending training camp in Dubai and a match against Al-Nasr Dubai SC at the newly built Al Maktoum Stadium during the international break.

The 22-year-old Nigeria international has already been included in Gernot Rohr 23 man list for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Seychelles and friendly match with Egypt at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on March 26.

Iwobi will not able to make the five days trip with his Arsenal colleagues for the Middle East as part of a warm-weather training camp ahead of their Premier League run-in.

Gunners boss Unai Emery will use the training camp as a key part of our preparations for the run-in and the Premier League home fixture against Newcastle United on Monday, April 1.

However, the Spanish coach told the club website : “It will be great to get some warm weather training and break up the usual routine as we enter the final stage of the season. The facilities in Dubai are fantastic and it will be an

honour to be part of the formal opening ceremony for the new stadium.

Iwobi’s Arsenal currently sit in the fourth and final UEFA Champions League qualifying spot and have eight Premier League games left to play but the North London outfit welcome Stade Rennes to Emirates Stadium on Thursday for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie, which they trail 3-1 from last week’s reverse fixture.
