Former Chelsea manager Conte replies Ramos’ comment

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has replied Sergio Ramos’ comment when he was linked with Real Madrid coaching role.

Ramos in an interview when Julen Lopetegui was on the verge of sack and Conte was the leading candidate to replace the Basque, the Real Madrid captain claims that for new coach ‘respect is not imposed, it is earned.’

Conte, speaking to Rai Sport, also made a reference to those that doubted his ability to bring the needed change to change to Santiago Bernabeu.

“Ramos’ words? When a coach arrives at a team he must bring education and respect, something that he would expect from the players too,” Conte said.

“When this goes wrong, the problems begin.

“We Italian coaches have a great culture of work and when you join a new club you can’t change everything, you must try and do it very gradually,” he explained.

Real Madrid has retained the services of Santiago Solari after the Argentine manager won four games in four games and put an end to speculations linking the Italian manager to the Spanish giant.
