Cheltenham Town Loan In Fulham’s Nigerian Striker

EFL League Two club Cheltenham Town have reached an agreement with Fulham over the transfer of promising Nigerian striker Elijah Adebayo, 20.

Adebayo has penned a five-month deal that will keep him at Cheltenham Town until the end of the 2017-2018 season.

The attacker has been in brilliant form for Fulham’s Under-23 team, scoring 11 goals in the first half of the season

”We’ve been keeping an eye on Elijah for a little while now. He caught my eye when I was down at Fulham a couple of years ago and he is obviously a bit further on now and the top scorer in their Under-23s,” Cheltenham Town boss Gary Johnson told Cheltenham Town’s official website.

“He is probably just about ready now to go into League Two football and Fulham trust us because I’ve had a few of their players before that have done well.

”We are lucky to get Elijah and I don’t think he has been that far away from Fulham’s first team.”

Elijah Adebayo previously had loan spells at non-league clubs Bognor Regis Town FC and Slough Town.
