Electricity Cables Thief Remanded In Osun

A 22 year old man has been remanded in Ilesha prison custody for allegedly stealing electricity wires valued at  N100,000.

The accused was arraigned on Monday before the Chief Magistrate O. A Oloyade on two counts charge of stealing and felony.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq told the court that the accused committed the offense on the 28th of October, 2017 at about 11.39pm at Ago Ayo area in Osogbo.

He said the accused broke into the house of one Adekola Adefisayo and stole electricity wires valued at N100,000.

He explained that the offense committed by the accused contravene section 411, and section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2002.

The accused pleaded guilty to one count charge and not guilty to the second count charge bothering on stealing.

The accused had no legal representation in court.

The prosecutor urged the court not to grant the accused bail adding there are still others at large and that some of the exhibits have not been recovered from the accused.

The Magistrate, Chief Mrs O. A Oloyade while delivering judgment ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha prison custody.

She therefore adjourned the case to December 4 for bail and hearing.
