Exclusive: Official Family Statement(s) On DJ Olu’s Death


The family of the Late friend of popular musician, David Adeleke (Davido) , Oluwagbemiga Abiodun popularly known as DJ Olus has refuted reports that the deceased died of drug overdose.

In separate statements made available to TheParadigmNg on Wednesday through Seye Abiodun on behalf of the family and Dennis Ogunnaike, Technical Assistant, Media and Public Affairs to Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, it held that reports alleging that the late “DJ Olu” gave up the ghost as a result of drug abuse was false, malicious and vicious.

 

According to the statements, the family of the deceased stated that people should leave it to grief while it awaits the true autopsy report from the medics.

 

It said Dr Olu as he was fondly called while alive was an ambitious young man who was generous, kind hearted and touched many lives during his brief sojourn.

 

The statement reads “The past few days have been most trying for the family. We are saddened by his demise but we are comforted by the well wishes and kind thoughts of friends around the world.”

 

“Olugbemiga has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him.”

 

“He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, idealist and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many.

 

“The family hereby, pleads with the public to disregard insinuations being peddled by certain sections of the media about the actual cause of our son’s death.”

 

“An official result of the autopsy conducted will be made available as soon as it is ready. Until then, we urge everyone to kindly respect our family’s need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately,” the family said.

 

On his part, Ogunnaike noted that “The family of the deceased has already issued a statement confirming the tragic and regrettable demise of Olugbemigaurging members of the public to disregard these insinuations in sections of the media about the actual cause of his death stating that the official result of the autopsy conducted will be made available as soon as it is ready.”

“Until then, we urge everyone to kindly continue to pray with the family and support them in every way possible.”
