My Ambition To Replace Late Isiaka Adeleke Is For Continuity – Ademola Adeleke

The flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the July 8 Osun West Senatorial District, Otunba Ademola Adeleke has said his decision to fill the vacuum created by the death of his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke is borne out of the need to provide a credible continuity for the actualization of his campaign promises.

Speaking in Osogbo on Tuesday, Adeleke said there is the need to complement the good works of the late Isiaka Adeleke and bring to the people, the dividends of democracy they desire and knew the late brother for.

According to the PDP Candidate, his decision to vie for the seat is to ensure the continuation of the numerous people oriented programmes embarked on before Isiaka Adeleke’s demise on April 23, 2017.

He said he joined the PDP after the APC primary election process was “tampered with” by the state government to suit Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s preferred candidate, Senator Mudashiru Hussein’s interest.

Otunba Ademola Adeleke also denounced claims by his opponent, Sen Hussein that he is inexperienced in Politics, noting that “his lineage is that of thorough bred veteran politicians from who he got the impetus to become a formidable grassroots mobilizer.”

His words “My Interest to contest the seat is not personal but to complete what my brother had started. The Adeleke family is blessed, we do not need money from politics. I was a director at Guinness, one of Nigeria’s foremost blue-chip companies.”

“We are a source of empowerment, social welfare and philanthropy for the state. Our university employs about 10,000 people. I wish to continue in this regard. When I saw that the NWC reinstated someone who was earlier disqualified by two committees sent from Abuja and the primaries moved to a location in Osogbo other than Iwo, our senatorial headquarters, I was uncomfortable and had to leave.”

Adeleke added “I had my membership card. My brother (Late Isiaka Adeleke was beaten in PDP and did not die but died mysteriously when he joined the APC. God will Judge.”
