The duo had both lost the cases filed by their position at the Court of Appeal.

Dissatisfied by the ruling of the various court of appeal, Abia Governor, Dr. Ikpeazu dragged Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA to the supreme court.

Like wise, Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom dragged Umana Okon Umana of the All Progressives Congress, APC before the supreme court to challenge his Appeal Court victory.

However, the Supreme Court laid to rest, conflicting judgement of the Tribuanl and Court of Appeal on who the winners are by giving a ruling validating the results of April 11 governorship election.

The court reversed the decision of the Court of Appeal, which nullified Mr. Udom & Ikpeazu’s election.

The Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Udom and Mr Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won the lawfully cast votes in the April 11, 2015 election.

The court further said full details of the ruling would be provided on a February 15, 2016.
