Alleged Drug Baron Buruji Kashamu Is A Frustrated Politician Exploring Avenues To Discredit Otunba Gbenga Daniel – Labour Party

Press Release

Our attention has been drawn to a newspaper publication credited to Prince Buruji Kashamu where he called the former government of Ogun State and the leader of Labour Party, Otunba Gbenga Daniel a Political Prostitute in an attempt to destroy his personality.

While the Labour party, wishes to reiterate our mutual support for the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Gooodluck Ebele Jonathan to have a rerun in 2015 general election. We wish to state that Prince Buruji Kashamu is a frustrated politician exploring all avenues to discredit Otunba Gbenga Daniel out of fear, inferiority complex and ignorance.

It will be recalled that the Governor Elect of Ekiti state, Mr Ayodeji Fayose recently visited Otunba Gbenga Daniel at his Asoludero residence in Sagamu and the pleaded with him to return back to People’s Democratic Party. Fayose even said at the victory party organized for him by Ogun state chapter of PDP that the party cannot win election in the state without Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

Presently we are aware that a lot of political juggernaut in Ogun state, who are recognized national leaders are still talking to OGD for collaboration in their various political platforms, one therefore wonders that a greenhorn and a political flirt, a businessman in politics whose sole interest is pecuniary gains could tarnish the good image of our leader.

We are not unaware that Buruji Kashamu receives contracts from APC government in Lagos and Ogun state to mention but a few. As a matter of fact, the members of PDP and top echelon of PDP still doubt the sincerity of Buruji Kashamu to wanting PDP to win the next elections in Ogun state. For Austin Oniyokor, media aide to Kashamu to regard his principal, Prince Buruji Kashamu as an experience politician remains a boastful and an uninformed statement.

Prince Buruji Kashamu who has not stood for an elective position talk less of winning one to be regarded as such is rather unfortunately or rather that Mr. Austin Oniyokor and his cohorts merely regard court purchased injunctions and judgments as political victory. This is ridiculous, ludicrous and laughable in a civilized world.

For avoidance of doubt below are few high rated commendations from great Nigerians about Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

OGD IS THE AWOLOWO OF OUR TIME ‘’….If I see Papa (Obafemi Awolowo) today, I will tell him that his son , Gbenga Daniel is doing well, I will tell him that he left somebody who is doing everything he wanted to do. OGD is the Awolowo of our time because each time I saw him on television doing things that I know that are things papa had wanted to do, I have no doubt in my mind that Governor Daniel is the Awolowo of our time ‘’ MAMA H.I.D. AWOLOLO (The matriarch of (Awolowo’s family)

‘’…. The various projects embarked upon by Governor Daniel are laudable and practical’’. Prof. Wole Soyinka, noble laureate, HE IS RUNNING A GOOD GOVERNMENT

‘’… From what we saw and heard from people, Your Excellency is running a good government. You can therefore count on my support for your administration as long as you are always doing whatever is necessary to improve the welfare and well being of the people from who we derive our mandate of leadership and governance …. The example of Otunba Gbenga Daniel approach, style and getting things done should be encouraged and be a model for various state governments. All leaders must have the moral courage and the sincerely to serve the well –being of their people. Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd.), former Head of State, Federal Republic of Nigeria WE ARE HIGHLY IMPRESSED

‘’ you are really doing well. We pray that other state governors would emulate you. We are highly impressed ‘’’ Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie, Catholic Archbishop of Lagos HE IS LABOUR FRIENDLY

“I am pleased that unlike many other states in the country, i have not been told about unpaid salaries, retrenchment and negative policies. This is a reflection of excellent relationship with labour in Ogun state. Comrade Adams Oshiomole , President NLC THINGS ARE IMPROVING

“There is no doubt about it that … some of the things we couldn’t do those days have been done and the governor here recently (OGD) is building on the foundation that other people had put in place and improving on them. I just want to say big congratulations to you people….. If everybody can apply him/herself purposefully as OGD is doing even with the meager resources that you have, I know some of the sate today, which get ten times the allocation Ogun state gets and yet there is nothing to show for it. But here, things are improving and that’s the way to run a government. Things won’t happen overnight But if every leaders come and improve on what is on ground, things will improved’’ Brig. General Oluwole Rotimi (rtd.), former Military Government of old Western region.
