Soldiers And Police Must Obey Laws Says Oshiomole, As APC Chieftains Storms Edo Govt. House

The Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has urged both police and the military to obey the laws of the land. He said this today at the State Government House when Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress paid him solidarity visit.

The party leaders who stormed Edo State Government House had pledge their support to the governor and the good people of Edo State.

“The Police (and military) are the creations of law and must therefore obey the laws of the land. If the rule of law collapses, in the confusion that follows, when everyone resorts to self-help, even the uniform that these officials wear becomes irrelevant. The whole society becomes endangered”, Oshiomhole said.

Governor Oshiomhole further stressed that state resources should be applied for the service of the people and by so doing, the people will stand by the government.

National Chairman of the APC, Mr.John Odigie-Oyegun, in his address faulted the high level of lawlessness and impunity associated with the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

His words: “The APC will no longer tolerate Jonathanian lawlessness and impunity that is now clearly threatening our democracy. Those that abuse state power to oppress citizens, deprive Nigerians of their lives, livelihood and freedoms must be confronted, resisted and defeated. Enough is enough!”

In attendance at the solidarity visit are Governor of Rivers State, RotimiAmaechi; National Secretary, Mallam Ibrahim BalaGubi;National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammmed;Senator BukolaSaraki; MallamNasir El-Rufai; Minority Leader, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila;Abubakar Kari and OilisaemekaAkamukali.
