3 Northern Governors To Pitch Tent With APC Following Atiku’s Defection

Indication has emerged that the recent defection of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may just be the beginning of big achievement for the All Progress Congress (APC) as three more governors in the Peoples Democratic Party are gearing up to dump their party for the APC.

It was gathered that the state-wide consultation embarked upon by the former VP was not just a consultation to determine his future political move, but a very strategic and significant move to ensure that the PDP is obviously outnumbered in the coming months.

With the reported plan by the three governors to dump the PDP for the APC, the opposition party if the defection sees the light of the day will then have 19 governors while the PDP will be left with 15 and APGA and LP will have one each.

Two of the three governors gearing up to defect to the APC are reportedly from the Northwest and the third from the North central.

Sources say the chieftains are already holding meetings with influential PDP members, some associates of former national chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur, among others.

Already, Governors Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Ahmed Fatha (Kwara) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), a number of PDP federal and state legislators have crossed to the APC.

More Senators and Reps members are also bidding their time to cross over to APC, as highly placed sources say Atiku’s move to the APC is one that will shock a lot of people when the results begin to manifest.
