ILLEGAL ALIENS: Lagos Deports 44 Adults, 2 Children Immigrants To Osun

The last hasn’t been heard of the ‘deportation’ saga making rounds in the country as Lagos yesterday deported 46 Nigerian citizens to Osun State.

Receiving the deportees classified as ‘destitute’ at the National Youth Development Centre, Ode-Omu, yesterday, the Special Adviser to Governor Rauf Aregbesola on Youths, Sports and Special Needs, Hon. Biyi Odunlade said that the state government has no option than to take care of its citizens in any part of the country.

Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola ordered the immediate resettlement of Osun Citizens deported by the Lagos State Government. After documentation, it was discovered that only 26 of the deportees are Osun Indigents. It is not clear what the Osun State government plans to do with the non-indigents deportess it has in its custody.

“We were invited by Lagos State to pick our brothers and sisters who were destitute and 46 persons were brought, out of which we discovered that just 26 of them are actually indigenes of the state, comprising of 19 males and five females with two children who are from different local governments in the state.”

“It is our responsibility to take the matter up because Governor Aregbesola believes in quick and responsible action, and that is why the state government insisted that any time Lagos invited us for their evacuation, we respond on good time.” Biyi Odunlade (Special Adviser to the Governor of the State of Osun).
