PRESS RELEASE: Youths Walk against Violence and Abuse on Women

Introduction
The world has seen its fair share of violence against women. More worrisome is the painful reality that violence truly exists in our clime, possibly under your roof. To stem this global menace, every year the world marks 25th of November as International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Background

Violence against women takes many forms – physical, sexual, psychological and economic. These forms of violence are interrelated and affect women from before birth to old age. The implication of this is enormous, from health to psychological and ecomonic harm. A report by the UN states that atleast 70% of women experience violence in their life time. Statistic about violence in Nigeria is disturbing. A great percentage of Nigerian women and girls have had their fair share in this global scorge called Violence.
